Can you believe that it's December and the leaves are just now changing colors? It finally feels like Fall.

Dodger Blue

This Dodger blue baby blanket was requested by a friend for a friend who is expecting a girl so I am going to make this a girly blue blanket. I found the pattern on YouTube by MilArt Marroquin. 

My Little Nook

We purchased new reclining faux leather couches for that empty space in the living room finally. I felt something was missing to make it a bit cozier. Several items made their way to the little coffee table including a lamp from the office that wasn't being used and now this is the only place in the house where I want to hang out.

Election Day

I got around to voting later in the day with my youngest daughter, Annelise. 

His and Hers

This mug pairing was not planned but I thought they looked cute together. So, Gustavo gets the 'stache and I get the Chicago one for our once-in-a-lifetime Sunday morning coffee/breakfast at home.

Butterfly Shawl

My mother in law had to leave sooner than I could finish her shawl. I've been working on it pretty much everyday when I have free time. My coworker stopped by during my break and I couldn't resist Te opportunity to have her model it for me. Isn't it grand?

Beaded Beauty

This beautiful beaded beauty almost cost me my eyesight as well a small fortune. Every single row is different and I had to pay really close attention to the bead placement. The yarn was pretty expensive too -  cowl is staying with me.

Wedgewood Shawl is Finished

Wow! I love how this came out! This project drove me crazy because I messed up at first with counting and had to rip it out and the yarn was way too thin which made me take longer than expected but here it is! The patten is called Wedgewood from Jen Lucas' Sock-Yarn Shawls.

Albondigas

QuiI recently started using exact measured ingredients in my albondigas just to see which batch came out good. Previously, they had come out hard or flavorless. This time they came out perfect! 

Embellishments

Here I am making samples of crochet circles to cover up the holes in the shirred fabric decor of my blouse. I decided to keep the circle small.

Embellishment Time

This blouse is starting to fray on the edges and I also would like to wear it without a shrug and since I don't wear sleeveless blouses on their own I'm going to knit/crochet sleeves for it.

Molcajete in the House!

The one and only molcajete I ever had was the one my husband brought over with him from Mexico and I couldn't get the hang of it. I preferred to use the high speed blender. My mother borrowed it from me years ago and now she claims that she does not have it. I thought it would be fun to have one again as my younger daughter has been spending more time with me in the kitchen. So yesterday we bought one at the Mexican market.

Debbie Bliss Rialto Yarn

This yarn is soft but it sure is thin and I have to use thin needles. It's going to take a long time to knit.

Multi-Color Caterpillar Outfit

A co-worker requested a caterpillar outfit for her sister's baby which is due in October. I still had a bit of yarn from the precious one I made and I'm just putting the colors in it randomly and with different stitches too. 

Autumn Cloche Hat

I knit another cloche hat in autumn colors and I cinched it at the seam with a leaf brooch that I bought a while back at an antique store. I don't think I want to give this one away.

All By Myself

The girls went on a road trip up north to San Francisco and Gus is golfing so here I am all by myself eating Thai food.

I made this cloche yesterday and I'm pretty pleased at how it turned out. 

Silky Yarn

I bought this silky smooth yarn in Mexico City and it's just wonderful. I'm knitting a Downton Abbey inspired hat with it for a friend who lives in Florida which she plans on using when she visits England with her husband.

Aprons

I have been compiling aprons lately. My friend's aunt made me a few with fabric I took with me to Mexico and today I made an apron using some Mary Englebreit fabric that I had originally used to make some valances for Annelise's windows about 10 years ago.

Coral and gray zig zag blanket

I started crocheting this cute baby girl zig zag blanket and I'm really liking how the stripes are coming out.

Wisteria Plant

When we moved into our new home 4 years ago, this vine was already in place. Every year it only grew leaves and once in a while it grew a single mound of purple flowers. This year I noticed that it had multiple clusters that resembled a very tight pine cone and almost every week since then I have taken pictures of its development. Take a look!
